A first in the history of the hospital.
On 11 June 1998 Gabriella Leal was born in our hospital. Her midwife was Sr Hannetjie van Deventer and the nurse was C. Engelbrecht. Both still in the employment of Midvaal Private Hospital.
Yesterday, 16 July 2018 – 20 years later, Gabriella gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Mason Leal Neumann. He weighed 3.1 kg at birth and was 49 cm in length. Gabriella’s mother, Michelle, remembered the sister who assisted with her birth, and quickly made an effort to introduce them. Sr Hannetjie has vivid memories of Gabriella’s birth and still recalls the bunch of black hair she was born with. Gabriella’s father, Victor, came into the room while we were visiting Gabriella, and he immediately recognised Sr Hannetjie.
In the photo, Sr Hannetjie, who is now the Unit Manager of the surgical ward, can be seen with Gabriella and her son, Mason.
